so.... i was at artists block with this drawing i'm doing.. so i went outside and took a cue from the movie fight club... i closed my eyes and went into my cave and found my power animal (which was a bear) and boom, flyer drawing now, but thats for another post... for right now.... yo, now begins the part where the cool stuff i've been promising finally i get to show it off..

first off, here's a flyer for a show thats tuesday... nu sensae is back in town, with white lung, and milk music.. its danny's b-day show so i know its going to be rager! here's the version that i did first!

all the individual components of this are awesome, but i didn't like the way that the nude man fit in the background, plus the print shop that danny was gonna print these at probably wouldn't of liked it either, so i did this cleaned up version that i thought looked better...

i liked this version because it was cleaner, not in sense of sexuality but in the sense of graphity dirrty-tude... whatever, nobody curzz... anyway here's the individual layers broken down...

Sabertooth cavity and bogus went on a 2nd tour.. and this friday is there big homecoming show... amzi did a flyer for it, but sick/bay requested that we add their name to it... and since i didn't get a chance to make a crab flyer for my series.. i took the oppurtinity (very selfishly) to draw a crab based flyer....

the idea of the flyer was to have the crab returning from a deep space expedition.... yes, i know... thats very very stupid... but fuck it... here's the final flyer!

i really like the way the triangles have different shades of yellow and change the color of the crab... i might not be a photoshop allstar, but i'm learnings and shit..

amzi asked me to make some b/w copies of the flyer that we could use to promote the show... and i took advantage to remake the flyer in cool halftones... nobody noticed or cared (well maybe teeth) but still... i like art so i thought it'd be a cool concept

been bussy... but never to busy for you baby.... ..... hahaha... here is a sticker i drew for bat/caves, one of my favorite local bf/gf-band-duos.... bat/caves is mike and leslie... there's more info about them.. but here it from them! anyways here's the sticker thing i made for em..

designing for them was very hard... because there was no reference material and they didn't give me an idea to what it was they were after. usually i have some idea as to what a band wants... but in this case, i was left to my own devices... so i did my best to convey something fun and colorful and random... i really like the way that squiggles change color over the polyhedron... but the color scheme isn't my favorite... here's the squiggle as i made it initially... with the colors that i originally had in mind...

pink on yellow is just an awesome color combination to me...

i had originally made the words in a different color...

and i wanted to see how they would blend... but nothing really came out the way i wanted... so i mixed and matched until i got the final product.... if they did make stickers and i get a hold of one... i'll post a pic of it too...

fun fun fun fest is this thing in austin with a bunch of bands... you know.. a fest... ... well they did a facebook contest for art submissions... and i'll take any opportunity to submit art for things... because i like artt... honestly i suck... and i turned this thing in two days past deadline... and it didn't live up to my original idea... and i don't think anyone noticed... ......................... sigh.... but whatever... good practice i guess for future art stuff making... here's the final product!

this friday were doing a benefit show for a local punk house... theyre always quite nice to us and help us out alot, and it seems a fiting time to help them... and luckily one of my favorite artists is going to join in! here comes the gut wagon from austin! this is the the second time i get to draw the gut wagon flyer! and i'm hella proud!!!

back last year ham asked me to do a drawing for a zine he was making about god. unfortunately he never got around to making it... which is understandable... im having the same issues! but regardless here is the drawing i plannned on submitting.

i also wrote a little prose on the concept of god and how that has (and will continue to) change over time... here's the drawing as it would of appeared in the zine..

then there's this thing... this is a us postal mail sticker thing and a drawing i did on it... gonna post it somewhere and post the pic... but here ya go...

so, i can't have this blog being without arts... so i uploaded a demo version of the 1st sexual drawing... if you don't know the story behind it... back in february.. i was bored at work in las cruces, and i was recently single... and i started drawing me and my ex fucking... just thinking about her, passing the time... then i thought.. this would be a really cool concept for a zine... just a bunch of random sex drawings... FIVE months, TWO hook-back ups, and TWO break ups LATER... here we are...

i had origanally asked alot of people to submit to this, but people suck... so instead, i'm going to do my original drawings and some words to accompany them... draw it out, xerox it, make 31 copies and see what happens...

this the final piece in the series. i'm going to collect these drawings into a little xeroxy zine. geometry001. containing all the status updates drawings. i already have the layout planned, so now comes the hard part. actually doing it... regardless.. here's math heart...

that was the original drawing... just a simple heart in blocky mathy form... a representation of lots of feelings for different people. but that was too boring of a drawing, so i added a layer of black charcoal to the background and photoshopped it up just a bit... yo!

3rd in a series... i'm gonna take these drawings, redo em, and put em into a zine... geometry001... i had the idea for a geometry zine awhile ago, but i couldn't get down what i wanted to do for it... but everyone has liked these drawings enough for me to have the confidence to put em together... something simple 4 pages, black and white ink... maybe a little sliver of paint.

this is long head graphs. the expansion of my thought process as i ponder events. unsure thoughts stretched out. questions unanswered. a look at what i was feeling, of course these events are now resolved...

the 1st part of this was the "complex chest mathematics" drawing. which started out as just as a depressy lossy status update thing, then became a really important peice for me... this one, still follows the same theme. but its not as a dramatic as the one before. this is deep chest equations. a look into the unresolved questions that plague me. a sit-down with my thoughts and wants. if i had friends, i'd probably chill with them and let myself open up. but nah, i'm not gonna bother people with that nonsense. so i'll just shove it into art form..

yeah its inverted, but i wanted it that way from the beginning... i like the look of black skin, with white lines. the paint is washed over the page, i'm gonna start doing that again... i always love the way that comes out...

the next part in the series "long head graphs" hahahahaha, i like these peices, because they are reflections of my thoughts at the moment.

i went to work and felt awkward and nervous and uneasy about things that have nothing to do with work. but the bad feelings remained in my chest. complex feelings like i couldn't understand, or didn't want to... so i updated my internet account place. the more i thought about the concept of it, it sounded like a really cool drawing. so for two weeks i did draft after draft until i came up with this.

so the concept of valerie's flyer was something, completely not gutsy and pukey, but nice pretty flowers, i started off with a ball flower drawing based on gay beast's disrobics album

the flower is pastel oil crayon, and the color around it is watercolor pencil smudged and wet.

then i photoshopped it up way brighter

i wanted a font that was nice and invitational, but still mostly legible... so i threw something nice on their... really rad show... really rad....

me and him call it us is one of my all time favorite bands... i've seen them twice, or perhaps even thrice... and they have been a constant in my top played music for 3 or 4 years. they always set my bummer moods so well... here's the lyrics, for the song that is currently consuming me... anywhoos... hey guess what i finally finished the animals on coke design! here's the deal... about four or five months ago, my good friend juan pablo asked me to design a tee shirt for the wonderful animals on coke. his idea was two male bears having sex, with the headline "riding bearback" the drawing itself wasn't difficult... i like drawing and it came out like this...

i gave the bear a tie, so we could distinguish he was male.. hahahahah

i did a rough draft with digital lettering... but it looked to neat.. to clean...

so i spent 4 months!! little by little hand drawing the font in... FUCK, i hate gangstery old enlishy letters, they suck! but whatever i finished the design, last month... so here is the final product.. the hand drawn version...

yeah i know, the letters suck! but thats what makes them unique.. its so much more vivid and natural that way... at least in my opinion... whatever though niggu, it aint like yr opinion on this matter is all dat important...

kaleidoscope science Pt 2 (professional hard ons)

this was one of the hardest flyers i've put together. fuck ups, problem after problem... but it's whatever... this is a continuation of the trend i'm going through right now.. cell looking stuff and hazy layers...

the thing about this show, was that the guy told me friday night to make a flyer, and he wanted it done by saturday so he could promote it... so i threw something fun together.... this was the original drawing. and the version without info for the hazy layer...

and then of course together... and then of course inverted...

unfortunately i'm an idiot... and i forgot a band... so i had to erase some stuff and add a band. and then i forgot the booking agent. so i had to put that in... ghettotech.... here it is fixed up...

but still the guy didn't like it... he didn't like the way i spelled out certain bands and he didn't like cover charge... so whatever i scrapped the entire concept and started fresh... i love drawing, and i love drawing flyers and being part of my local culture.. i even have aspirations of making bigger more widely known stuff... but if most clients are gonna be demanding i wonder if i have the talent to make it... my stuff is very hand drawny, and very random and illegible... i take my cues from danimal and seripop who'll do a giant rainbow vomit print and that very bottom have scribbled info... those flyers are my dreamboat.... but whatever....

for the second drawing, i kept it really, really simple. i made this cell type drawing and just copied it in 4 colors...

then just added all the info in type....

this started off as a simple work drawing. work drawing 15. just thinking about health. random cellular composition art. i actually took anatomy in high school, but found the glass horribly boring... im really interested in the human system, but only under the cocepts of art. defining the organism in the anatomical sense is just not my thing. but if anatomy provided anything, it provided good artisitic ideas...

it was originally b/w, but the pink is just cooler

i layered the drawing in photoshop and set it slightly off balance. i really liked how it came out. i just need to practice alot more with the colors... pink and green are my two favorites, but for this, they just don't balance well... i really do like how the off balanceyness looks

same drawing, but more mathy. i've tried to draw cell stuff in a math sense before, but it never really comes out the way i want it. this is work drawing 16.... by the way...

i think i really like this process, because it takes the focus off the impurities in the work. it makes some of my mistakes less obvious and adds more detail.

this show happened before the show on the last post. but i was waiting for pictures of the event to post. well like always, nope, some random complications came up... but we got 3 really good videos of the event too... here's my art...

i wanted to do something in vein of the last twin crystals flyer.. THIS ONE! thats like my all time favorite flyer... and i wanted to something hopefully as cool, but nah... i went through like 10 pieces of paper and nothing came through... so i just a fun randomy drawing with my pretty new gel pens... here's the regular..

this was one of those times, where alot of random things came together... it started as just being pink, and then i got bored and threw in a bunch of other colors too... i was really happy with the thickness, style, and look of the pens... but as always, things look better inverted..

it was a rad show... i'm getting ready to sing for heathers! whoo, me and randy had a practice session and we're getting the songs down... how cool... how cool... here's 3 videos of them... sorry i appear in all of them.. believe i'm sorry for being dumb...

hey, lots of stuff done! and waiting to be put on here, more new stuff on the way! so there was a show and a flyer that happened before this one, but i'm waiting for band photos before i post!

anyway here's a flyer i did for the knackery... joanna was telling about this thing where you put a layer of rainbowey crayon down and then cover it with a layer of black crayon and scratch out the black to get a split fountain kind of effect... here's the 1st draft

but the crayon was too weak. so i scrapped it and instead used an oil crayon which came out much better. here's the drawing with just random sprays of rainbow color. like randomly yo... skippellina said that it looks really pretty just like that... hahahah...

and here is the final product... caked in black, then just scratched off... i like it.. i just think i need some more practice at it.. but for the future yo! also skippellina wanted me to add "her face smells like fruit" just for funsies yoo!

so what do you think? homiee? yr opinion really matters to me..whatevers.. its cool... its whatevers! like i said sonn more stuff to come... but for now beddys... long day.. weird day... long day...

so i look in my trash can to the left and there 8 cans of mountain dew red in there... damn thats a good soda... i drank 8 cans of soda over the weekend? really? ewww.....

so this is the 4th design i've done for neon navajo... this one isn't spiritual at all, just gooey and slimey... i thought it'd be a nice change of pace, but i totally regret my decision.. they have this guy who's beating me to death with his radical art stuff... like this thing, and this thing... what the fuck home fries? who does this guy think he is?? some cool guy, who draws good? thats bullshit! hahahahahahah starting from today, me and this guy are having an art contest! A draw off! hahahahahahah... i'm sure if i met this guy he'd be really cool... we'd probably get along, but for the purpose of this art off, fuck him with a golden horse... hahahahahah.... we'll see who wins...

here's the initial drawing... kinda inspired by the holy molar dvd... it didn't really have an outlet so i thought it'd be a good design for neon navajo, just to showcase, what i'm best at... you know?

i remember them telling me they wanted slimey letters but tall and not thick and viscous...

and then the final step of course was to color it, i decided to go digital this time, the final product wasn't so bad... i think... just could of been better, and the competition is fierce... like gay fierce! i think it'd would've been nicer like sharper... but i don't know...

so thats that, expect a new design soon, something really spirity and good (hopefully) i'm might even be doing a design for the el paso tigua community... just based on the this design.. aint it cool? apperantly my girl had it in her binder and somebody saw it... blah, blah, blah... i'll keep you informed if it happens... the show was last night. it was cool, fun to see dozals making new shit. there aint much else to say, we had to leave early. the knackery was fun, big thanks to them for giving me the chance to design a flyer. my only problem, was that one guy talking shit about me... seriously fuck that guy. the next time i see him at a show, i'm going to throw my entire body into at him. kock him to the floor. fuck him. i hope he kicks my ass so i can spit blood in his face. fuck that guy, and fuck that other guy too... the one from before... with the thing, and the stuff... fuck those guys... fuck those guys!

i did this flyer like two weeks ago or something, the show itself was last week. but i wanted to wait on posting so i could post photos from the show as well.. my photographer, which is my old photographer (who came back from the grave) took some decent shots, which can be seen here. then i took my favorites and raped them which is below...

this is the 1st flyer ive done with my watercolor pencils... i still need alot of practice so i can distort my art... my sister didn't like how the locals came out, but regardless... i think it came out nice...

and of course inverted... which wasn't as much of a hit though....

this is series two of "complex" the factory outside of anthony is on temporary hold (schedule conflicts) but these are the ruins of orogrande new mexico. a tiny village 80 miles between el paso and alamagordo. where the only gas station closes at 6 pm.. i've had unfortunate adventures there, here are my chronicles of them...

unfortunately due to complications the "vos yeux ont ressemblé aux lasers" zine will be cancelled. the matter has become far to complex to put into a zine. and as it continues to unfold, in a most ugly fashion. i've decided its just best to scrap this project or put on indefinate hiatus. don't worry. nobody wouldl of like the zine anyway. the only thing people want to see me draw is gay dinosaurs and colorful guts, so i'll stick with that.

they bought me some new art stuff today! i feel like a little kidd! they got me a new toy and i'm hella excited about playing with it... its these pencils that turn into water colors! wow! i suck at doing water colors, but now i'm not so sure!

and we sat there in my car and we traded stories. stories of love, loss, and woe. stories from years to weeks ago. and knowing that people have the same fucked up nightmares as you, makes things just a little bit better. seeing yr own weakness in other people, makes things just a little bit better. and i want to wish you the best, but i can't… the best i can do, is only slightly fucking hate you… but this will pass in time. laughing about things that break yr heart really makes me feel warm inside. and all our memories are black and white photos yellowing with age. hidden away in some locked file cabinet. only to be looked at in special circumstances. and little by little there fading to dust. and all i'll remember is the fucked-up-ness of it. just the way things were before, they'll be after. and that whole thing in the middle, those events and those things, they're disappearing fast. the history is getting fuzzy. and like everything else, soon i won't be able to recall any of it...

ok... so what do you think of my photography style? i took all these photos on a regular digital camera then photoshopped em up a bit.... i know, photoshop bad... but i don't know anyone with a dark room, plus the film camera we got is on the fritz... regardless, i like these... i'm gonna keep on doin em, wether you like em or not! ahahahahahah, ya jerk!

The worst part is over. The freezing rain. The crashing waves. The sick feelings of loss and abandonment. The weather is calm again. Bad feelings still reside within me, but theyve always been there. This chapter of the book is written and closed. And we're back where we started. Im trying my best to not wish harm on anybody, but right now for at least a little while longer, fuck you.... i'm a little disappointed in myself, for growing up and getting over it, because the bad feelings zine is still in its infancy. ugly feelings are my biggest inspiration for artt making. but i'm gong to try really hard to put this all together. so i can have a tangible peice of my bitchy (let's say, justified) human-ness...

ALSO!!! i was in las cruces being bored and i came up with a really cool idea for a zine! SEXUAL DRAWINGS!! i was thinking about aids wolf, and drawing gross headless naked women and men, and i thought! i should make a zine, and i invited everyone to join in! so far, this guy dusto, and miss valerie are going to submit some SEXUAL DRAWINGS!! you should join in too! hit me up! it doesn't matter how gay, weird, talentless... its all about weird sexual posses and bad feelings... whoo!

route solitaire (part 2)

here is the finished drawing. this peice has been in various stages of completion for the last three weeks. inspired by bad feelings on the long stretches of empty highway. by the clumps of hair and guts sprayed for miles. the rust red tire tracks that go on forever and the anguish they inspire. the stippling didn't come out very good, but whatevers buddy. lets see you do it... ... nah, i'm just kidding... i'm sure you can draw it way better, don't make me look like a bitch on my own page, that would suck. sorry bro...

last night i had a nightmare. and although i won't go into details. lets just this style of mine is going to continue for a little while at least. ... the dream involved me learning something terrible and falling to floor in convolsions. and then after a little while i got over it. and i realized what a slut... hahahahah... i fucking hate dreams.

this was supposed to be the 2nd installment of the complex series, but it grew too late, and our camera's flash proved to be insufficient. my old photographer moved to missouri to be candidate in the senate race, so i hired a new one. we're testing actual film camera's to see if the pros outweigh the cons. here are the two photos of our last attempt at a photography session.

...factories and processing plants really inspire me. they're so dirty and massive. so straight and mathematical. just being near them leaves me gawking. to lay in the grass by the corrupted highway next to a polluting factory. sounds like a dream. that's some hopelessness i wouldn't mind having.

as i was saying before i'm taking things in a different direction. i've really been trying to expand into photography. my old photographer died in a fire, so i'm trying my best at it... this is the first in a series... the title "complex" comes from the idea that this is human process, creation, change, destruction, and building.

this is a demonstration page for my upcoming zine. when i was in high school i used to do alot of poetry in this style, scribbled on paper, scratches. tear drops. i think this is a really good change of pace for me. so far i have about 10 to 12 pages in mind. mostly new writing, but some old, and some new drawings.

i was thinking to myself earlier, will anyone get this? what about the subjects involved? but, i remain assured that not only does no one give a shit, but that this is out of context enough to stand in its own right. but just in case, all names and such have been cut out... plus i think it gives it a better look.

i'm still unsure about the size... but soon i'll get it figured out

the "route solitaire" drawing is almost finished too.. i'm layering on thick graphite to get the sky that perfect shade of purgatory. i think the next series of things will have a tendency to more real ideas, hopefully some photography soon too.

in other sad news astrocosmonauts called it a quits. i really loved them. they were so nice too. i wish my blog had more pull to it so i could help promote stuff like that. there's something really sad about awesome musicians never catching on...

so there's nothing that's ready right now, but like soon hopefully... this is just a post about posts about stuff... hahahahah

#1: here's a neon navajo design implemented into a cassette, they said they would send me a copy... but as of yet none has arrived in the mail. i'm working on something for them right now, that's not native themed, but just colorful gutsy slime... but i still have to color in alot... so that'll be done soon.

#2: im working on a zine right now... "vos yeux ont ressemblé aux lasers" it started off as a look at the past 5 months in a romantic sense. feelings and gay stuff like that... but i think its turning more into a document of spite and hopelessness... which is still really cool... i'm going to try really hard to get this done so i can xerox a bunch of copies... i want it to be angry, sad, gritty, and weird... i have to do it... i have to make a zine... hmmm... would anybody buy it anyway? nah, probably not...

#3 the same thing with the butter face comic... i want to add a couple of pages and turn that into a zine... so i can have some of my work in print. available... ugh... but being a lazy ass and being busy really fuck up my schedule...

#4 so my photographer moved away... to lead a life of religious fulfillment.... hahahahahaha... anyways... i'm off saturday and sunday afternoon... so i'm going to drive around town taking pictures of rusted factories and old buildings. i need to take every oppurtinity i have to get myself out there... to whore out and create as much as i can... because, damn, fuck you life... i'm not going to bed without my name slathered all over this cities garbage.

#5: other things that are half done, aoc design (i could finish it within like an hour, i just don't know where it is...) and the route solitaire drawing... that one still has alot of stuff left, but i like how anti colory it is... it'll be done soon too....

... i think that's it... yeah.. that's it... if i could actually finish this stuff up, i would be SOOO proud of myself... but we'll see what happens...
