dream fantasys pt 1

these are the fantasies i feel when i'm bored at school... pt 1 in a series

open the universe hole

Sabertooth cavity and bogus went on a 2nd tour.. and this friday is there big homecoming show... amzi did a flyer for it, but sick/bay requested that we add their name to it... and since i didn't get a chance to make a crab flyer for my series.. i took the oppurtinity (very selfishly) to draw  a crab based flyer....

the idea of the flyer was to have the crab returning from a deep space expedition.... yes, i know... thats very very stupid... but fuck it... here's the final flyer!

i really like the way the triangles have different shades of yellow and change the color of the crab... i might not be a photoshop allstar, but i'm learnings and shit..

amzi asked me to make some b/w copies of the flyer that we could use to promote the show... and i took advantage to remake the flyer in cool halftones... nobody noticed or cared (well maybe teeth) but still... i like art so i thought it'd be a cool concept

i love that that they-re the same and yet so different! whoo! artt! i also love when my flyers are parts of serious... this series is of course crabs... and i let randy and teeth draw the first two.. here's RANDYS and TEETHS... whoo... art.. whoo... hahahah... thats it... oh yeah.. STRESS PHANTOM

this is the final piece in series... for a show this friday... a tour benefit show thing... its gonna be a big show and hopefully drama free...be there kidd!

TEASER

so, i can't have this blog being without arts... so i uploaded a demo version of the 1st sexual drawing... if you don't know the story behind it... back in february.. i was bored at work in las cruces, and i was recently single... and i started drawing me and my ex fucking... just thinking about her, passing the time... then i thought.. this would be a really cool concept for a zine... just a bunch of random sex drawings... FIVE months, TWO hook-back ups, and TWO break ups LATER... here we are...

i had origanally asked alot of people to submit to this, but people suck... so instead, i'm going to do my original drawings and some words to accompany them... draw it out, xerox it, make 31 copies and see what happens...

in complete unrelated news, this is post 99!!!!!!!!!!! DAMNN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! expect post 100 to be long and sentimental and boring... just to let you know!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

phantasm series IV

ILLNESS GHOST

this show turned out to be a huge mess... like random huge mess... and surprisingly the last shows at misties have aswell? usually things go fine there, but yeah... wtf? still a fun thing to draw, you know? this is the fourth part in the phantasm series, and since i don't have any commision work coming soon, it seems like it'll be a while before you see part 5... well fuck it... here's the flyer yo....

i like it because its simple and classy... i have a thing with caverns with the last two peices have you noticed that? i was fantasizing about feeling epoxy resin... fantasizing about the a cave into the ocean blue... but whatever.... yr not paying attention anyways...

phantasm series II (revisited)

back from the dead.... i told you this would never die... (begin creepy tape loop, dry ice fog, cue bag of dead bats to drop on the floor) regardless, stuffs coming! here is the same flyer as i did, two/three weeks ago, only slightly revised.. apperantly the band that cancelled, uncancelled...

i've suddenly come to the realization that nobody reads this thing, therefor making posting useless..... hahahahahahahahahah... tooo badd..... still gonna do it sucka!

i mean its not exactly the same, like the same general idea and a different drawing.. but either way... its chillen.. yo...

A STRANGE REVENANT

myths is a band from canada, there like dark disko noise stuff, which is fucking cool... disko might be dead and famous, but dark disko still has that allure that drives me wild... plus it featurs lief the singer from mutators! and if you know me, in any way, you should i fucking love mutators!

well whatever i did the next installment of my phantasm series... i'm stupid, because i didn't upload the drawing before i added that layer of pastel... well whatever, no one cares anyway... here the final drwing... i love the way the pastel is just lightly on the page and colored in so badly, i like this flyer alot, although i bet people think it sucks....

A SPECTRAL SPECTER

part two of the series... this was a flyer for daytes, a band from san antonio... they were looking for a date here in town and i emailed them some links and and asked if i could do a flyer... they ended up doing it with some other band, and then dropped. hahahah... but still, i'll take any chance to draw a flyer.. here's version 1... which came out crappy...

but the bands weren't visible enough so here's the edit...

ehhh, i didn't like it, nah nah nah... but whatever here's the original...

but yeah, that version sucked... so i threw it to the wolves... to be eaten by bears... hahahahah... and i worked on a better version... here's the final...

THE SUDDEN APPARITION

after going through some life doodles in reality town. i came up with the comcept of doing a series of drawings with deathy phantasmy kinda images... here's the first flyer

that was the final product something quick and simple and spacy and deathy.. hahahahah done for the band sheeple... here's how it came out without the spacey background...

doesn't that layer of spacey death, just make it more fun?? it was actually a photo i took of a broken cd on  cement last year in my roudy days of self destruction and drug abuse.. hahahahahah here it is yo!

status updates become tangible artworks pt4:

this the final piece in the series. i'm going to collect these drawings into a little xeroxy zine. geometry001. containing all the status updates drawings. i already have the layout planned, so now comes the hard part. actually doing it... regardless.. here's math heart...

that was the original drawing... just a simple heart in blocky mathy form... a representation of lots of feelings for different people. but that was too boring of a drawing, so i added a layer of black charcoal to the background and photoshopped it up just a bit... yo!

the zine is coming soon... 4 drawings a cover blah blah blah... lets see if i can do it... yo... hahahahahahahah... more gay art soon too, like the june 18th flyer... thats next up yo!

status updates become tangible artworks pt3

3rd in a series... i'm gonna take these drawings, redo em, and put em into a zine... geometry001... i had the idea for a geometry zine awhile ago, but i couldn't get down what i wanted to do for it... but everyone has liked these drawings enough for me to have the confidence to put em together... something simple 4 pages, black and white ink... maybe a little sliver of paint.

this is long head graphs. the expansion of my thought process as i ponder events. unsure thoughts stretched out. questions unanswered. a look at what i was feeling, of course these events are now resolved...

status updates become tangible artworks pt2:

the 1st part of this was the "complex chest mathematics" drawing. which started out as just as a depressy lossy status update thing, then became a really important peice for me... this one, still follows the same theme. but its not as a dramatic as the one before. this is deep chest equations. a look into the unresolved questions that plague me. a sit-down with my thoughts and wants. if i had friends, i'd probably chill with them and let myself open up. but nah, i'm not gonna bother people with that nonsense. so i'll just shove it into art form..

yeah its inverted, but i wanted it that way from the beginning... i like the look of black skin, with white lines. the paint is washed over the page, i'm gonna start doing that again... i always love the way that comes out...

the next part in the series "long head graphs" hahahahaha, i like these peices, because they are reflections of my thoughts at the moment. 

if anything... the questions and problems that i needed resolved during this drawing procces have been takend care of, but whatever, keep yoself updated foo!

kaleidoscope science Pt 3 (failures)

the final installment of this series. hazy layers and cellular concepts... blah blah blah... anyway this is workforce boredom volume 17.  random cell thoughts while at work... nothing special... someone told me it looked like a really wrinkly vagina or asshole.. but i can assure that wasn't my intention...

then there was this thing... this was supposed to be the big finale... an experiment with different things being layered etc... but the bands dropped out last minute or something.. so i just turned it a fun randomy drawing... here's how it looked just untouched...

kaleidoscope science Pt 2 (professional hard ons)

this  was one of the hardest flyers i've put together. fuck ups, problem after problem... but it's whatever... this is a continuation of the trend i'm going through right now.. cell looking stuff and hazy layers...

the thing about this show, was that the guy told me friday night to make a flyer, and he wanted it done by saturday so he could promote it... so i threw something fun together.... this was the original drawing. and the version without info for the hazy layer...

 

and then of course together... and then of course inverted...

 

unfortunately i'm an idiot... and i forgot a band... so i had to erase some stuff and add a band. and then i forgot the booking agent. so i had to put that in... ghettotech.... here it is fixed up...

but still the guy didn't like it... he didn't like the way i spelled out certain bands and he didn't like cover charge... so whatever i scrapped the entire concept and started fresh... i love drawing, and i love drawing flyers and being part of my local culture.. i even have aspirations of making bigger more widely known stuff... but if most clients are gonna be demanding i wonder if i have the talent to make it... my stuff is very hand drawny, and very random and illegible... i take my cues from danimal and seripop who'll do a giant rainbow vomit print and that very bottom have scribbled info... those flyers are my dreamboat.... but whatever....

for the second drawing, i kept it really, really simple. i made this cell type drawing and just copied it in 4 colors...

then just added all the info in type....

but still i'm an idiot and i fucked up... i spelled musicianers wrong, and i forgot the booking agent... so i fixed the info and inverted the mothafucker.... 

yup yup... i'm still feelling this whole trend so it'll probably continue for a bit longer... kaleidoscope science Pt 1(workforce boredom vol. 15 & 16)

this started off as a simple work drawing. work drawing 15. just thinking about health. random cellular composition art. i actually took anatomy in high school, but found the glass horribly boring... im really interested in the human system, but only under the cocepts of art. defining the organism in the anatomical sense is just not my thing. but if anatomy provided anything, it provided good artisitic ideas...

it was originally b/w, but the pink is just cooler

i layered the drawing in photoshop and set it slightly off balance. i really liked how it came out. i just need to practice alot more with the colors... pink and green are my two favorites, but for this, they just don't balance well... i really do like how the off balanceyness looks

same drawing, but more mathy. i've tried to draw cell stuff in a math sense before, but it never really comes out the way i want it. this is work drawing 16.... by the way...

i think i really like this process, because it takes the focus off the impurities in the work. it makes some of my mistakes less obvious and adds more detail.

complex (series one)

as i was saying before i'm taking things in a different direction. i've really been trying to expand into photography. my old photographer died in a fire, so i'm trying my best at it... this is the first in a series... the title "complex" comes from the idea that this is human process, creation, change, destruction, and building.

wow... two posts in one day? damn!

i'm not going to say much because i am very fucking tired. but this is the drawing that's driving me crazy right now... i tried to stay up and finish it, but fuck that... there's alot to do.. ugh... ugh...

after resin cum, heathers played. probably their last show for a while. (little joke: adam's black and thats why the amp is watermelon colored) they're set was also awesome...

then bogus played... i'm really sorry that we couldn't get any pictures of bogus, but we were watching the door. bogus is awesome, they were really inspiring, but the door kept us busy... side story... while sitting outside taking money and stuff i threw up.....

then peppermint pony played. he had a nintendo set up and people were lined up to play games while he entertained us all.. merry christmas...
